Best is to have a look at your vehicle service manual, it comes with your new car, normally in the gloves box.
If you intent to keep your car for many years to come, you must maintain your car as per the vehicle maintenance schedules.
From memory, there are certain precautions you need to be aware of for the first 1000kms, for instance:
Avoid driving at high speed, over 80km/hr?
Avoid revving the engine.
Do an oil change and filter change after 1000kms (engine is new and has small metal particles left from the manufacturing process, first oil change is to get rid of this)..........after that, every 10,000kms or 6 months (best refer to manual).
